Social Justice Leaders Honored at Farmworker Justice Awards

(LosAngeles.CityRegions.Com, September 20, 2021 ) LOS ANGELES, CA - Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15th thru October 15th, was kicked into high gear at this year’s Farmworker Justice Awards on the eve of September 14th, 2021.

Farmworker Justice is a nonprofit organization that has been empowering migrant and seasonal farmworkers since 1981 by improving many different aspects of their lives, including living and working conditions, immigration status, and providing access to justice whenever necessary. Since being founded, the organization’s aim is to end discrimination against agricultural workers, promote higher wages and better working conditions, and to also give access to health and job safety information.

Celebrating more than 40 years of service, this year’s honorees include President of the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund, Thomas A. Saenz; CEO of Latin Heat, Bel Hernandez; author, motivational speaker, corporate executive and former farmworker, Richard Montañez, and several others, who all took home awards honoring their work and dedication to bettering the lives of many.

Step and Repeat LA created an impressive 8’ tall by 25’ backdrop to serve as the event’s photo-op backdrop. The company also provided red carpet, lighting, and was on-site to ensure a perfect setup, as well as provide take-down after the event.

The event was a hit, and Eva Longoria was even in attendance to show her support for the noble cause.
