Urban Grange Living Donates Basil Plants To Local Montessori Schools

This time, Urban Grange Living is giving a herbs seedlings to all local Montessori schools. The purpose is to partner and support school programs that encourage the care of earth and plants in their program.

The plant chosen by Urban Grange Living is one of the most ancient and popular herbal plants called the "Basil" herb. This "King of Herbs" originally came from very diverse places such as Iran, India and Asia. Its appearance is particular, with leaves that can vary from light-green to purple depending on the types of basil. Its texture can vary as well from smooth to silky. The most common type of basil that can be found is the sweet basil, and other basil types would include less sweet basil in comparison.

Urban Grange provides the plants in various forms with this information for the teacher to share. The company selected this plant for its Montessori school donation (UGL) in the hope to also offer the discussion of foods that one can grow and eat. The Montessori program also asked for this, as teaching which foods to eat is crucial for young kids who often eat processed foods.

Urban Grange Living is proud to be a part of the program and hopes to expand it in the following year. This year, they gave away 50 plants. Next year, they hope to be able to double it. They also plan to go to the school, to show basil plant splitting in the fall.
