Zen Strength Promotes The Arthritis FoundationÂ’s Better Living Toolkit

(LosAngeles.CityRegions.Com, June 02, 2016 ) Los Angeles, California -- Health and vitality company Zen Strength today announced its intention to promote the Arthritis Foundation’s Better Living Toolkit, as part of its work with its arthritis customers.

The Arthritis Foundation, the US's leading non-profit has recently launched a new ‘Better Living Toolkit' designed to help people with arthritis understand the condition better and set goals to assist their recovery.

Over 52 million US adults have doctor-diagnosed arthritis which equates to around one in every five adults of any age. In spite of the popular conception that arthritis mainly affects the elderly, two-thirds of all adults affected are under the age of 65. Babies and children can also be affected too, with almost 300,000 - or one in 250 - in the US having arthritis or a rheumatic condition.

Paula Jenkins, CEO of Zen Strength which makes a popular and loved finger exerciser for osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis said:

"Arthritis can be a debilitating condition with over 22 million people in the US reporting limiting due to their arthritis. Exercise and movement of affected joints can help significantly with management or even recovery from some of the most debilitating symptoms.

"In fact movement and activity is so vital to the maintenance of joints that even healthy joints go through destruction after around four months if they are completely immobilised. So, while it might seem counter-intuitive to move and challenge sore and inflamed joints it's actually vital to avoid further damage. That's why we love and are promoting the Arthritis Foundation's new Better Living Toolkit, which helps people pro-actively address and manage the condition by setting positive goals for recovery."

"The toolkit includes a tracking sheet, information around setting ‘SMART' goals which means that they are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bounded. The Foundation also provides a SMART goal action plan for people to fill out. At Zen Strength, we really believe in the power of writing out your goals and tracking them, which can hugely increase your chance of success. The Better Living Toolkit provides a really simple step-by-step guide to setting goals around arthritis recovery.

"The Foundation also offers a reminder email service to check-in with you once a week and remind you to track progress. Because exercise is the number one measure to manage and recover from arthritis we are passionate about helping people adopt new activity habits and we strongly recommend this Toolkit to our existing and future customers with arthritis."

Other ways of assisting arthritis recovery include diet change and all-round exercise such as walking regularly.
