(LosAngeles.CityRegions.Com, January 14, 2014 ) Los Angeles, CA -- From the day it opened for business, Bridgewater vet All Pets Vet Hospital has strived to offer the best possible quality veterinary care to their patients. The friendly and caring staff exercises compassion and truly understands the special bonds that exist between pet owners and their beloved four-legged companions.
Dr. Morsy Alsamadisi, known to his patients and staff as Dr. Sam, is the founder and owner of All Pets Vet Hospital. He, along with the rest of his staff, are devoted to ensuring the health of their patients by using state of the art technology including Ultrasound, Echocardiogram, Laser Surgery, ECG, Video Endoscopy, Video Otoscopy, and Laparoscopy. To help pet owners understand what their older pets might be going through, the Branchburg animal hospital, All Pets Vet, recently released an article that covers five signs that a pet may be aging.
For example, if a dog or cat is stiff when she gets up in the morning, she could have arthritis, Dr. Sam noted, adding that a vet may suggest supplements, anti-inflammatory medications, acupuncture or therapy.
Eye issues, including grey or cloudy pupils, can be a sign that a pet has lenticular sclerosis— which does not impair vision—or cataracts.
“If cataracts are diagnosed, you may want to consider surgery, which can run $2,000 to $4,000,” Dr. Sam noted.
A decreased appetite can be another sign that a pet is growing old. Although an infected tooth or neck stiffness may make it difficult for a pet to eat, Dr. Sam noted that refusing food can be also caused by much more serious causes, including organ failure or infection.
“If you’re hand-feeding your pet or ‘doctoring up’ her food, visit your veterinarian,” he said, adding that owners should also be on the lookout for increased thirst.
“This could signal urinary tract infections, hormonal issues or kidney or liver failure. Even if your pet appears healthy, get him checked out.”
The fifth sign that a pet is growing older is urinary incontinence, which Dr. Sam said could be caused by a urinary tract infection, a hormonal imbalance, or organ failure.
“Medications can help, so if your furry companion is soaking the bed, discuss your options with your vet.”
In the almost 16 years that it has been open, All Pets Vet Hospital has developed a well-deserved reputation as one of the best animal hospitals in NJ. The facility offers Well Pet, Dental Care, and Senior Care, as well as advanced technology treatments including laser surgery, laproscopy, and underwater treadmill procedures.
