(LosAngeles.CityRegions.Com, August 12, 2014 ) Glendale, California -- Wine is produced in more than 40 countries worldwide and US exports reached a record $1.55 billion in 2013. Wine sales in the U.S were valued at $36.3 billion (that is 3.38 billion liters of wine), in 2013 more than doubling the value of wine sold only 14 years ago, according to an April report published on the website Wine Searcher.
More people are consuming wine on a regular basis and those consumers want their money's worth. They are looking for the best wine aerator decanters to enhance their enjoyment. According to Google trends, wine aerators have been on the radar since 2009 and their usage increasing.
Decanting or aerating wine has been a point of controversy among wine experts. Some experts claim that air exposure for a prolonged time dissipates more aromas than are stimulated detracting from the flavors. Using a decanter vessel for letting wine breathe is a subject of much debate. Some say it is effective to swirl the wine in a glass to experience a flavor release. Wine aerators are trending because they are found to enhance flavor consistently in a matter of seconds. Swirling, decanting and using an aerator, are thought to stimulate molecules in the wine causing a release of more flavors and aromas.
"It is important to clarify the terms we are using here," says Mary Anderson, CEO of MXA Market, the company now offering the Vintensify wine aerator with its globally patented triple stage aeration system on Amazon.com. "Decanting traditionally is pouring wine away from sediments (naturally occurring crystal like particles in wine that form over time) that accumulate in the bottom of the bottle in more aged wines. Aerating is traditionally using a wide based container in order for more of the wine's surface to be exposed to air expanding the aromatic uniqueness of the wine as well as softening the tannins. Swirling combines the wine with air for the same purpose. Aerating or allowing the wine to breathe is simply exposing the wine to air in order for it open up in flavor and bouquet. It takes time to aerate when using your grandmother's decanter and swirling is not always effective."
No matter what the method, most experts and wine enthusiasts alike no matter their level of experience agree that wines need to be exposed to air to express their aromas and flavors. They have been suffocating in their bottles and as air combines with the wine's molecules flavors become more distinguishable and the wine more enjoyable.
Ms. Anderson continues, "I've found many are turning to wine aerators such as the Vintensify wine aerator decanter brand because it works in seconds, is easy to use, is sturdy and portable and wonderfully fun. And wine is aerated perfectly in the time it takes to pour a glass. I want people to understand that the only opinion that really matters is theirs - their tastes and wine choices are the only ones that matter and how they aerate is important. That is why I have made the Vintensify available on Amazon - to enhance enjoyment."
