(LosAngeles.CityRegions.Com, September 04, 2014 ) Los Angeles, California -- Chris Moal, CEO of Trained Sports, says that health fitness people may want to stop doing their old routine and start incorporating agility ladder training. A research has shown the benefits of agility ladder training on improving the cognitive performance of its subjects.
The study used military men grouped into two. These groups of men underwent six weeks of training with the first group using regular physical training that included jogging and calisthenics and the second group used agility training that incorporated ladder drills. At the end of the training, tests showed that standard military training improved the men's endurance while the second group improved their memory, concentration and footwork.
According to one of the co-authors of the study, agility training uses parts of the brain for learning, balance, focus and coordination. This means that agility training enables richer connections among different parts of the brain by making them work with each other.
Apart from brain function, there are also other advantages of agility training, says Chris Moal. "Making your exercise routine more varied can help prevent your body getting burnout or plateaus. Agility training therefore is a good way to help you reach your exercise goals and at the same time making your body and mind active."
Moal also suggests that if it is difficult to get away from an exercise routine or regular workouts, simply include some agility ladder drills on days of strength training. "Agility ladders are a versatile equipment to help you create simple or complex routines to help improve your agility and making use of two or more ladders can create more complicated routines," says Moal.
