(LosAngeles.CityRegions.Com, October 26, 2014 ) Shadow Hills, CA -- Hilarity for Charity ™ is a movement led by comedian Seth Rogen to inspire change and raise awareness of Alzheimer's disease.
On October 17, 2014 Hilarity for Charity transformed the Hollywood Palladium into a high school gymnasium for the 3rd Annual HFC Variety Show: HFC Prom. There were performances from Weird Al, Bill Burr, Sarah Silverman, Kumail Nanjiani, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bell Biv DeVoe. They raised nearly 1 million dollars that night.
Step and Repeat LA helped with this event by making and installing the 36' Step and Repeat Media Wall, lights and black carpet. The step and repeat had the Hilarity for Charity logo and the Genworth logo stepping and repeating on a black and purplish Hollywood scene backdrop. This was installed at the Palladium in Hollywood prior to the event for the many celebrities to pose in front of before entering for the show. Genworth was the Valedictorian Sponsor of the event.
This year, Hilarity for Charity launched HFC U, a nationwide program that encourages colleges to throw their own Hilarity for Charity events. The next contest started on August 25, 2014 and will go until April 11, 2015. The campus organization that raises the most amount of money will get to host Seth Rogen for a live commentary screening of Superbad.
The founding members of Hilarity for Charity are Raffi Adlan, Matthew Bass,Tum Cohl, Lauren Miller and Seth Rogen. They founded this charity for The Alzheimer's Association which is the leading, global voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care and support, and the largest private nonprofit funder of Alzheimer's research.
