(LosAngeles.CityRegions.Com, November 21, 2014 ) Los Angeles, California -- Sports and exercise are indeed a crucial part of childhood. Children learn from individual and team sports that can be applied to daily life. Kids who have established regular exercise as part of their day will usually continue doing so until adulthood. Chris Moal of Trained Sports, a sports equipment company, shares the benefits of agility training together with strength training for children and adolescents.
Moal says, "The American Academy of Pediatrics suggest that school-aged children should have a minimum of one hour of moderate to intense physical activity each day in order to help them develop physically. There are training coaches who incorporate agility training to strength training, which is actually better than standard physical training especially for young athletes."
Research on strength training in combination with agility training has shown significant results when it comes to reducing risks of injuries, improved endurance and acceleration.
Strength training can significantly improve strength by up to 50 percent after eight to twelve weeks of a well-created strength training program. Young children should continue training for at least twice a week in order to maintain their strength. Although there are some reports related to injuries during strength training, these injuries were mainly due to improper use of equipment, unsuitable weight, inappropriate technique or lack of adult supervision.
Young people whether athletes or not, can successfully enhance strength and agility and their general health by undergoing a well-designed program. Trained adult professionals are crucial in making sure that the children use correct technique, development of exercises, proper form and safety.
One of the equipment used for agility training is the agility ladder. Training coaches can design competitive or play-like routines using the equipment to encourage children to train.
