There are still some who are hesitant to try these because of the lack of knowledge on how to use them. Fortunately, Trained Sports CEO Chris Moal, shares how to use these lightweight workout tools.

"It can be confusing trying to discover how to use resistance bands. Remember that you can do the same exercises that you can with free weights. However, the difference is in the positioning of the band. For example, you can grip the handles to do bicep curls or overhead presses while standing on the band. The band can also be attached to a door to do tricep pushdowns or lateral pulldowns. You can also wrap the band around a pole to do shoulder rotations or chest exercises," Moal shares.

Resistance bands seem to have quite a few advantages, too. First of all, they are lightweight so they can be easily packed into a bag or suitcase when travelling so there is no need to miss workout schedules.

Resistance bands can also improve coordination. Since there is tension all throughout the exercises, the body should be stabilized. With this, one develops coordination and balance while involving more muscle groups.

This equipment can also add variety to workout routines. With weights, there is often a limitation on the number of exercises that can be performed. However, resistance bands allow changes to positioning in various ways. This changes how the body works and how the exercise feels for the individual.

Resistance bands are also inexpensive, which is an advantage for the health and budget conscious person.

Resistance bands are also good for all fitness levels. Beginners and advanced exercisers can take advantage of this equipment depending on how they use them.
