Using resistance bands is not what most people think about. Since this equipment is not quite popular with most people yet, Chris Moal shares why resistance bands have benefits over machines and weights.
Chris Moal thinks that resistance bands are excellent for those who are travelling every now and then. Bands are also great for those looking for ways to add variety into their workout routine.
Moal explains,"Most people feel different about the resistance offered by the bands. In using weights, the weight is always opposed by the force of gravity. Because of this, you can feel more resistance while bringing the weights upward than when bringing them down. However, when using bands, the tensions tends to be the same and many people find this difficult," Moal says.
Bands tend to serve more like cable machines, enabling a person to apply the same tension to the muscle. In order to keep the band aligned all throughout the exercise, stabilizer muscles are also required. This makes old routines seem newer and more challenging.
Resistance bands are also different from dumbbells and machines. With weights, determining the weight being lifted is easy but bands only let a person feel the tension in the band.
"However, this does not mean that you are not doing a good workout. With good form and the appropriate tension level, you can surely benefit from using resistance bands," Moal adds.
Resistance bands can also add variety into any workout because of the possibility of working with bands in all directions.
