Chris Moal On Helpful Tips On Using Resistance Bands

 

 

 



(LosAngeles.CityRegions.Com, December 11, 2014 ) Los Angeles, California -- Resistance bands are known for its effective way to include a new dimension into strength training. Unlike using other fitness equipment, bands make use of body strength in order to improve flexibility and strength. Resistance bands are also very versatile and can even be included in Pilates, yoga, weight training and other fitness programs.

Chris Moal, Trained Sports CEO, shares some helpful tips related to using resistance bands. Tips related to movement and postures were shared by Moal.

Resistance bands usually let the body focus on specific muscle groups but there is no need to forget other parts of the body. "Make sure to maintain proper posture during exercise by ensuring that you keep the muscle cores strong. The back should be kept straight, head facing forward and shoulders back," Moal says.

Breathing evenly and inhaling while pushing against the band when returning to the original position. For standing exercises, keeping the knees bent and soft and the legs hip-width apart is also crucial.

When moving with exercises using resistance bands, the movements should be gentle, slow and controlled. Do not allow the bands to snap back into position. Instead, softly guide the band to return to position. Ensure that the band is properly placed around its anchor like under the feet for bicep curls.

"If you are not able to fully finish a movement due to too much resistance, you may have to change into a more flexible or a wider band. If you end up with a sagging band, change into a smaller or more rigid band. You may also double larger bands in order to increase resistance when needing a band between sizes," Moal continues.
