Los Angles Press Releases
|
(LosAngeles.CityRegions.Com, February 04, 2015 ) Los Angeles, California -- Trained Sports, a sports equipment company specializing in strength and agility training exercise tools, is also committed to providing important information regarding strength and agility training. Chris Moal, CEO of the young company, is a health fitness enthusiast himself. This time, Moal informs customers of a recent research that aims to look for alternative exercises for people who have type 2 diabetes.
One good way to have better control of blood sugar level is through exercise. A research is looking for people who have type 2 diabetes and is aiming to see if exercising using resistance bands will have a positive effect on controlling blood sugar, heart disease risk factors and strength. Other studies have already taken a look at the effect of resistance training with weight machines in gyms but according to Moal, this is the first study to determine if resistance bands, which are portable and affordable, could be an effective alternative.
"Researchers already know that conventional resistance training using weight machines can help build strength and makes the insulin that the body produces work better. If this new study can demonstrate that training is also effective using resistance bands, it would mean that diabetics can enjoy the benefits if strength training without even going to the gym and at the same time save money, too," Moal explains.
Moal continues to say, "Diabetics involved with the study for several weeks say that they have already felt the benefits of the strength training. They love the convenience provided by the resistance bands and the flexibility of the program."
Participants of the study should be at least 35 years old with type 2 diabetes and not taking insulin. They should be able to walk for ten minutes without difficulty. The study needs 36 participants. Each participant will be given any one of the following exercise programs: aerobic training, aerobic training together with home-based resistance band training and aerobic training along with group-based resistance band training.
