According to Moal, choosing activities that you love doing is important. Moal says, "Different activities such as playing sports, garderning, walking or dancing are physical and can add to a more active lifestyle since they can be considered as exercise. To make moving more fun, choose something that suits your self-identity. Would you dare go cycling when going to the office or would you rather go to the gym?"

Moal recommends dividing a workout into smaller portions as there really is no need to exercise at a single time. "If you can do three ten-minute workouts a day, that would just give you the same advantage of thirty minutes of working out at a single time," Moal adds.

Moal says finding a friend to exercise with can also be helpful. With a partner, a person can easily have that motivation needed to keep exercising and to stay on track..

In walking, Moal suggests to walk briskly as it can help control weight better than just walking at a leisurely pace. A person is walking brisk enough when he is taking 120 to 135 steps each minute. This pace is equivalent to 3 to 4 miles per hour, according to Moal. "If you aren't walking that fast, you can try walking faster for short bursts on different days of the week. This way you will be able to improve your speed in walking," Moal adds.
