(LosAngeles.CityRegions.Com, February 19, 2015 ) Los Angeles, California -- For people not used to physical activity and are not into any exercise program in the present, increasing physical activity slowly would bring a lot of benefits says Chris Moal, Trained Sports CEO. "To increase immunity and resistance to diseases, aerobic activities will be of help. Aerobic activities can also reduce the risk of having heart attack, stroke or diabetes because these activities trigger an increase in heart rate. Studies show that brisk walking for as little as 15 to 20 minutes a day has its advantages," Moal says.

How much activity do healthy adults need? The Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans recommends performing two and a half hours of moderate intensity aerobic activities each week for healthy adults. "You can do high intensity aerobic activities for at least 1.25 hours each week. In order to reduce chances of injury, you can also divide activities into several days of the week," Moal suggests.

Moal also says that combining vigorous and moderate intensity exercises in several days a week. This can be done by performing vigorous intensity activities for two days and then doing moderate intensity activities in the next two days. Moal also suggests dividing activities into smaller workouts for a minimum of ten minutes. Healthy adults should also do muscle-strengthening exercises for a minimum of twice a week and while kids are recommended a minimum of one hour physical activity each day.
