The FDA has however given a warning against silicone products that come with plastic fillers that can be harmful for the health. If buying silicone products, check if it contains fillers by twisting the bake ware. If there are white lines in the product, it means that the product must contain plastic fillers.

Ensure that any product that is purchased comes with a safety seal. Check if the product is created only with food grade silicone or BPA-free to make sure that the silicone product is safe to use for the whole family.

For storing silicone products, just ensure that these are stored in a cool, dry place. Avoid exposing these silicone bake cups to direct sources of heat such as the stove top. Abrasive cleaning products should not also be used for cleaning the silicone's surfaces as these can damage the non-stick surface of the silicone.
