Los Angles Press Releases

(LosAngeles.CityRegions.Com, March 19, 2015 ) Pebble Beach, CA -- Knock Flux, a young American brand of luxury cases for Apple iPhones established in mid-2014, was poised to launch its Audacity Collection in time for the end of year shopping season. The original plan was to manufacture the cases in the US, even at a higher cost, to support American jobs. However, after looking for a domestic supplier for 2 months without success, Knock Flux had no other choice but look overseas.
Knock Flux turned to China. A vetting process that lasted another 5 months enabled Knock Flux to find a well-qualified Chinese company that would be able to manufacture the cases according to Knock Flux design. Seven months later, without much fanfare, Knock Flux launches the Audacity Collection of leather cases for Apple iPhone 6.
Long distance and language barriers were two of the biggest hurdles Knock Flux faced working with Chinese suppliers. Many Chinese employees speak English, but voice communication was difficult sometimes. Conducting negotiations via back and forth emails introduced another level of delays due to a 16-hour time difference between China and California.
Working with two suppliers presented another difficulty, albeit a minor one. While one supplier manufactured the cases and another one produced the packaging, Knock Flux was required to coordinate the process remotely from California. "I believe we could only pull this off because both suppliers were located in the same city", notes Knock Flux president Eduardo Fujii. Distance helped, no doubt, but the fact that both suppliers spoke the same language most certainly contributed a great deal to the smoothness of this operation.
According to Mr. Fujii, Knock Flux identified an opportunity to answer to customer needs for a protective cover that looked as good as the stylish iPhone. In August 2014, Knock Flux designers started evaluating cases available at that time and gathering customer feedback. "Cases looking too cheap and poorly built was one of the most common complaints", says Mr. Fujii. To address that problem, Knock Flux made the decision to work only with genuine leather. "We used crazy horse leather", explains Mr.Fujii, "because of its softness, elegance, and resistance to dirt and scratches". Crazy horse leather is in fact so durable that it is used in horse saddles and for that reason is also known as saddle leather.
After a long and demanding road, Knock Flux announces the Audacity Collection of cases for Apple iPhone 6 in March 2015. When asked if he had any regrets working with overseas suppliers, Mr. Fujii answers that Knock Flux is lucky to be working with such skillful, professional and friendly suppliers. "It is a pleasure to work with our Chinese suppliers and we are very proud to finally be able to offer the elegant and sophisticated cases that customers demand", concludes Knock Flux president.
