American Academy of Pediatrics stated "all healthy mothers should consider breastfeeding for the first year of a baby's life, as this will help women give their babies the healthiest start possible".

Paul was also informed breastfeeding will help to build a special bond between wife and baby. Studies also showed that adults who were breastfed as babies, when compared with those who were formula-fed, had lower blood pressure, had lower cholesterol levels, were less likely to become obese and were less likely to develop type 2 diabetes.

Paul was advised of even more benefits breastfeeding can have, and may help Mothers to lose weight. In the long term, it can also help to lower a Mother's risk of breast cancer, protect against ovarian cancer before the menopause and reduces a Mother having the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
