(LosAngeles.CityRegions.Com, June 02, 2015 ) Los Angeles, CA -- Weather Permitting's t-shirt is made of a moisture wicking fabric that is commonly used in workout clothing and performance sportswear because the material is designed to pull moisture away from the skin.
The fabric is designed to draw sweat and perspiration off of the skin and out to the exterior of the fabric. It is much easier for the moisture to evaporate on the surface of the fabric than when it is trapped between the garment and the skin, so it keeps people comfortable while they are exercising or working outdoors.
Weather Permitting's line of moisture wicking t-shirts uses this technology to provide comfort and functionality for the active person.
In addition to keeping people comfortable while they are working out, moisture wicking fabric can also be important in the prevention of hypothermia. When people exercise outdoors in cold weather or participate in winter sports, they have to wear warm clothing, often in layers. Once they begin exercising, however, their bodies heat up and they may begin to perspire. In low temperatures, it can be dangerous for sweat to collect on the skin.
If the person begins to slow down in cold weather, the sweat cools or even freezes on the skin and the person can become very cold very quickly. Imagine, for example, wearing a soaking wet t-shirt in below-freezing temperatures. Not only would it be uncomfortable, but it could also be physically dangerous and cause serious health issues. Because moisture wicking fabric pulls the sweat to the surface of the material, this problem is largely avoided.
Weather Permitting's moisture wicking t-shirt has a propriety blend of cotton and microfiber. CEO Robbie Robinson says their tee-shirts are higher in cotton than most other performance shirts. "With a 70% cotton - 30% microfiber blend, the Weather Permitting t-shirt is more comfortable and better fitting than typical 100% polyester t-shirts. These all-polyester fabrics also achieve wicking and a moisture management property through a finish that is applied after the weaving or knitting process, but this finish is not permanent and it can yellow over time and fade the colors of the shirt. Polyester is also sticky and cold against the skin as it gets wet."
"Weather Permitting's moisture wicking t-shirt uses its unique weave to provide superior wicking capability without the liability of a fading chemical process. It uses exclusively the layered weave of the cotton and microfiber to produce wicking, retain shape, not fade, and remain comfortable after many washes. Unlike polyester performance shirts, it also stays virtually dry during the wicking process," he said.
Business owner, Kevin Cappel concurs, "I ordered two different colors. Both fit exactly as expected. These are extremely comfortable to just wear around just as well as working out in. And they do handle moisture just as the outrageously expensive name brand shirts. They are also classy enough to go with my favorite jacket!"
Weather Permitting's propriety fabric also has an anti-microbial technology combined with the wicking properties to help eliminate and control body odor and help prolong the life of the wicking feature.
These sorts of garments can be more expensive than garments made out of more common fabrics. This is because of the technology that goes in to creating fabric that can pull moisture away from the skin. However, they are not prohibitively expensive, are well worth the extra cost and are used by many people who enjoy fitness and the great outdoors.
