"First of all, your stairs could be an exercise tool that your body can benefit from. You do not have to purchase a stair machine because you can simply use any set of stairs that is available at home or anywhere near you," Moal begins.
Moal says that a recent study revealed that taking the stairs for only 13 minutes each day can help improve a person's heart rate, HDL cholesterol levels and breathing ability. The participants of the study were asked to climb the stairs six times per day in order to have the necessary daily duration.
Another basic tool that Moal says is important to have at home is simply a towel. "A gym towel can be a replacement for a medicine ball. Regardless of where you are, you can have a great workout tool for exercises using a towel. Some of these exercises include leg curls, sliding push-ups and shoulder presses," Moal says.
A towel can also be used for rehabilitation and stretching exercises, Moal adds. "You can do a simple stretch using a towel that will help strengthen your ankles. Just sit on the floor and have your legs outstretched in front of you. Put a rolled towel under your right calf. Bend the right foot back and forth for 10 to 15 times before switching to the other leg," Moal says.
Their resistance bands come in different tension levels, which can also be combined to add more challenge into a workout.
