Sales Of EAGems Digital Calipers On Amazon Nearly Came To A Halt, But Saved By 'A Fraction'

Just four short months later, it was nearly sold out. The owners anxiously monitored the tracking of their new, upgraded version as it traveled from overseas, worried that it would not make it on time.

They were very pleased with the first incarnation of their digital caliper. After reviewing numerous samples from a variety of manufacturers, they selected one they felt had a nice, high quality. It was made of all stainless steel so the head was able to glide very smoothly and easily along the beam, without sticking. It offered precision and accuracy down to within 5 ten-thousands of an inch, or within 1 hundredth of a millimeter. And it had an IP 54 rating - "IP" for ingress protection, a two-digit number rating indicating to what degree a piece of electronic equipment is protected from water splashes and dust.

But they felt something was still needed to help it stand out above the ordinary. And so their second inventory order added the option to allow users to easily switch not only between inches and millimeters, but now to fractions as well.

This seemingly minor addition resulted in the need to make several other modifications, including the packaging, thus delaying the start of the production of the new supply. So concern for running out set in when the first batch of inventory started selling faster. But, just as they reached the end of their inventory, the new stock arrived like clockwork. EAGems has announced that the upgraded version of their digital caliper, now with fractions, is available and selling through Amazon, and for only pennies more than the earlier version.
