Spellings are just one difference, eg. switching the z to an s in many words when converting from the US to UK, but also the careful use of language, so as to resonate with the correct audience.

Even though both countries speak English, the tone can be interpreted differently in the way things are worded. The approach to writing copy may be toned down somewhat for the UK market, as people in this region are considered to be more cautious and skeptical than their American counterparts.
