Los Angles Press Releases

(LosAngeles.CityRegions.Com, February 15, 2016 ) Los Angeles, California -- Real Designing Women's Lori Dennis explores how color affects personality and behavior in her latest post at Lori Dennis Inc . The designer is known for her bold and vivid use of color combined with minimal interiors. Dennis is called on by color forecast companies around the world to give her input on how and why people react the way they do to color.
"Have you ever wondered why people wear certain colors when everyone else is in black, or what made your neighbor decide to paint her house French's mustard yellow? People are attracted to certain colors and it says volumes about who they are or how they want to be perceived, " said Dennis.
The celebrity designer, who regularly appears on stage and on video, is usually seen in bold colors that set the tone for her speeches or appearances. When questioned about the decision to wear them, she replies that she is creating an environment and a culture that begins the minute she appears on stage or camera. Her latest post explains why people make judgements and opinions about her long before she says a word. Color psychology plays the largest role in the formation of their opinions.
The post goes on to share images of the designer's vast and varied body of work, and identifies why colors are selected and how the hues affect human behavior in those spaces.
" As an interior architect and interior designer, I am often blown away by hearing about designers who are color blind," Dennis says. " Color is a vital component in any space, even in outdoor spaces. How can anyone who is control of the direction of design not be able to feel how a color resonates? But yet, some of the most successful designer's dirty little secrets are that they are color blind. It's mind blowing."
Common colors that evoke emotion are blue for calm, yellow for happiness and red for appetite. The correlation between these are blue reminds people of water, yellow the sun and red, food and wine. Dennis puts into practice color theory in her product packaging and marketing. Her Lori Dennis Home Unbreakable Glasses are wrapped in cabernet red boxes. "There are other stemless wineglasses out there," says Sarah Lowe of Design PR, "but none of them got the color cue. Lori understands using a cabernet wine red color is going to influence a wine drinker."
